On the eve of the 8th of March, which historically emerged as a day of solidarity of women in the struggle for equal rights and emancipation, the Odessa art Museum has created a collection of t-shirts to participate in the contest “Not VSI Aliki!”. This writes the Bzh.Life.

The contest is designed to fight against prejudices associated with women, which are based on well-known stereotypes. Among them are: the calling of woman is in her marriage and the birth of children, failure to achieve success in science, or the inability to drive or complex equipment, e.g., aircraft.

So an international research company Ipsos conducted a study of gender stereotypes, and the results lay down the basis of the project “is Not VSI Aliki!”. In particular it was found that 65 % of respondents believe that the woman in the first place, “beauty”, 59% believe that she is “the weaker sex”, and 40% believe that man can prevent the woman to commit those or other actions.

To participate in the contest, the Museum has chosen paintings from a private collection. This “Revolutionary” Julia Bershad, “Portrait of T. M. Brajkovich” Konstantin Somov, sketch for unrealized mural Zinaida Serebryakova for the Kazan station in Moscow, “Woman with bird”, “the Globe” Timoleon Karl Neff and “Globe -” Amshey Nuremberg.

Just six t-shirts. The Museum has promised that even if you do not win in the contest t – shirts will still do it. And plan to create stickers for Telegram.

As previously mentioned the Focus:
