Chart, in his opinion, also says that Russia “wants not to destroy but to subjugate the West to its political will.” This introduces an economic component that can be a leverage.

Basarab said that, according to the schedule, the West has pretty serious economic leverage on the Kremlin and, if desired, capable of being “appeased”. Until it does, as is likely, remains in captivity of illusions about Moscow.

According to the analyst, many countries in the West do not “see” this “quiet war” being waged against them.

“Armed resistance to the Ukrainians, Moscow is forcing our Western friends to be at least in some shape. For example, applying sanctions, so it’s safe to say that giving a rebuff to the aggressor, Ukraine, save Europe from a “hybrid” absorption by the Kremlin. We do not give Europe a “freeze” on the soft Russian frost,” said Basarab.
