Measles took the life of one child in Odessa region
Just in the region since the beginning of the outbreak died six people
In the first days of January 2018 in Belgorod-Dniester district of Odessa region from complications of measles died five children. This was announced by the Director of the health Department of Odessa oblast Vyacheslav Polesny, reports Radio Liberty.
Since the beginning of the outbreak of this infectious disease, which began in the Odessa region in April 2017, from complications from measles has died, six people – four children and two adults.
“Only for 2017 in the Odessa region was 1293 cases, including 843 – children. In comparison with November, in December the incidence of measles increased by 64%,” said Polasky.

He added that there was a risk of measles outbreaks within hospitals and other medical institutions. At the end of 2017 from complications of the disease have already died employee of the receiving Department of the Odessa hospital.
January 11 the meeting of the Commission on questions tekhnogenno-ecological safety and emergency situations in the Odessa regional state administration decided that in the districts with high incidence of measles, winter holidays in schools will be extended until January 20.
Recall that in 2017 the incidence of measles has increased 43 times.
