Measles outbreak: I want to increase the responsibility for revaccination
Uncategorized January 19, 2018The Ministry of health intends to initiate a change in the law to provide for the additional responsibility for revaccinating children. This was reported today by the acting Minister of health Suprun, speaking in the Verkhovna Rada.
According to her, “you need to make changes to the laws regulating vaccination, and to strengthen the responsibility for non-vaccination, as is done throughout the civilized world.”
“Treatment of measles does not exist. Immunity from the vaccination creates disease. Unvaccinated children and adults get sick hard. One of 900 die from complications. Only vaccination gives immunity. From 1 million 300 thousand vaccinated over the past year not a single fatality,” said Suprun.
She explained that the outbreak of measles has arisen now because in 2016, the coverage of measles vaccination was below 50%.
“Once again I want to emphasize the quality of vaccines. The Belgian vaccine, which is prequalified by the world health organization,” – said Suprun.
