Lviv police tortured passers-by and solicited bribes

LVIV-KYIV. 27 Feb. UNN. At night on February 25 at the main railway station of the city detained three policemen suspected of bribery, theft and bodily harm. About it reported in a press-service of head Department of the Prosecutor’s office in Lviv region, reports UNN.

The Prosecutor also confirmed that workers of the Prosecutor’s office on Sunday night detained three policemen suspected of illegal receipt of benefits. The police demanded and received from the victim of unlawful benefit by not bringing him to administrative responsibility in the amount of 8 thousand UAH.

The Prosecutor also said that it recorded about 20 episodes of the police Commission of the division of police in the railway station of the city of looting, torture travelers and extortion and obtaining them improper benefits. Already completed the investigations and searches in the places of residence of 13 police officers. After the search the police seized cash worth about 5 thousand dollars. and personal belongings robbed.
