Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko gave an interview to the leading American magazines The Hill, which included several high-profile allegations against U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch.

The state Department gave his version of events: “the United States did not provide assistance to the General Prosecutor’s office (PGO), but previously tried to support a fundamental reform of the justice system, including the GPU after the revolution of dignity in 2014. When political will for real reforms following the General prosecutors was not enough, we have used our fiduciary responsibility to the American taxpayer and redirected aid to more productive projects.”
The us Embassy also added that the accusations against the US are a manifestation of corruption. “These attacks deepen our determination to help Ukraine in achieving victory in the fight against corruption,” stressed the diplomat. And explained that the scoring of the claims in the media of the United States does not make these claims true.
Also Lutsenko in a sensational interview mentioned that the GPU is investigating possible interference of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies in the us presidential campaign 2016.
