Law enforcement authorities in the Vinnytsia region suspected of torture

The Prosecutor’s office of Vinnytsia region, said the exposure of three officials of one of district departments of the police region that exceeding his authority tortured a man and illegally deprived of his liberty. About it reports a press-service of regional Prosecutor’s office.

The Agency reported that it had conducted an investigation of criminal proceedings on the grounds of criminal offenses under part 2 of article 365 (excess of authority or official powers), part 2 of article 146 (illegal imprisonment) and part 2 of article 127 (torture) of the criminal code of Ukraine. Suspect police officer reported about suspicion in Commission of the specified criminal offences.

For the committed criminal offence punishable by deprivation of liberty for a term up to ten years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to three years.

Preparing the petition for election of a suspect measure of restraint and to dismiss them from their positions, said the press service.

On 14 February it was reported that the security Service officers jointly with prosecutors and the police blocked the channel of delivery of drugs in the Odessa prison. According to law enforcement, regularly supplied drugs to order the detained employees of the escort service.
