Klimkin after Transcarpathia: There is an understanding for the “language law”
Uncategorized January 13, 2018Between Ukraine and Romania there was an understanding that the implementation of the new law on education, which caused a loud reaction from the authorities of certain neighbouring States, does not lead to infringement of the rights of ethnic minorities, and to expand their opportunities. About this in his Twitter said after yesterday’s trip to the Carpathians for a meeting with his Romanian counterpart Teodor Melescanu foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.
“Focus on cross-border cooperation and implementation of the educational law. There is an understanding that we are not talking about limiting, but about expanding the possibilities,” he said.
According to Klimkin, “together with the Romanian community will work to implement the law and a bilateral document.”

Last time Klimkin visited Transcarpathia and a half months ago, saying that between Ukraine and Hungary because of the “language issue” a difficult dialogue, not a diplomatic conflict.
