In the port of Odessa visited the U.S. Navy ship USS James E. Williams (DDG-95). His visit will last until December 2, reported the press service of naval forces of VSU.

The visit of the destroyer can be regarded as a continuation of the support of the U.S. Navy, says the Navy.

“The value of the constant contacts of the navies of the two countries is particularly difficult to overestimate recovery capacities of the national Navy after his relocation to mainland Ukraine in 2014 as a result of annexation by the Russian Federation of the Crimea and city of Sevastopol”, said the first Deputy commander of the naval forces of Ukraine, rear Admiral Andrey Tarasov.

Tarasov added that the Ukrainian Navy are actively collaborating with the U.S. Navy in the reforming and training of personnel. Also the rear Admiral considers effective cooperation between the two countries in the framework of the exercise series, sea breeze.

Over the past year there have been about ten visits of US Navy ships and ships of the navies of the countries-partners in the port of Odessa, said Tarasov.
