In the village of Shevchenkove Kiliya district of Odessa region, in educational institutions which on January 21 quarantined, the number of cases of measles in children has increased to 40.

This was reported in the Chilia GSS. It is noted that as of the evening of January 19 affected children was 14.

According to the head of GSS Pavel Boychenko, now in connection with the situation in the village is taking all necessary measures.

“The number of children infected with measles in Shevchenkove, reached 40, another 10 waiting for confirmation, but there is no doubt that the diagnosis is confirmed. In educational institutions of the village and in the kindergarten “topolyok” today has been quarantined,” said Boychenko.

He emphasizes that the outbreak of measles in the village – a result of the irresponsibility of parents who ignored numerous warnings and appeals of health workers to be vaccinated.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in Odessa region from-for the outbreaks of measles in schools of the village of Shevchenkove Kiliya district has been quarantined. It was reported on 14 cases of children who have not had appropriate vaccinations. According to local residents, especially teachers, are children whose parents “written waiver” from vaccination because of religious beliefs.
