In Russia Zelensky urged to punish activists for the demolition of the monument to Zhukov in Kharkov

KIEV. June 2. UNN. The public chamber of the Russian Federation urged the new Ukrainian authorities to publicly condemn people who demolished the bust of Marshal Georgy Zhukov in Kharkov, to find them and prosecute. This was stated by the Chairman of Commission OP on development of public diplomacy, cultural cooperation and preservation of traditional values Elena sutormina, reports UNN with reference to TASS.

“Encourage the new political leadership to cease to indulge those who adhere to radical ideologies. It is necessary to publicly condemn these actions publicly to find the vandals that they responded on all severity of the law,” sutormina said.

According to her, the nationalist idea of “never bear good, it is always destruction.”

“I hope that the administration (President of Ukraine – ed.) of Mr. Zelensky understands. Also ask the OSCE to pay attention to this glaring fact,” added sutormina.

We will remind, on Sunday, the Congress passed the “party of mayors”, which was supported by the mayor of Kharkiv Gennady Kernes and the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov. Near the Palace of sports in Kharkov held a rally against this Congress.

During it the activists threw a monument to Soviet Marshal Georgy Zhukov.

Also during the picket, a group of unknown sprayed tear gas. Three police officers who were on duty and maintain law and order near the monument, received a chemical burn of the eye and was taken to the hospital.

Investigators opened criminal proceedings under part 2 of article 296 (hooliganism) and part 2 of article 345 (threat or violence concerning the employee of law enforcement body) the criminal code of Ukraine.
