KIEV. 18 Feb. UNN. In Russian Yaroslavl detained the former chief of a colony №1 Dmitry Nikolaev in connection with the investigation of cases of torture of prisoners. It is reported by UNN with reference to the human rights organization “Public verdict”.
Mass testing in the Russian prisons began after the Fund published in the edition “the New newspaper” live with the torture of a prisoner of Evgeny Makarov. It was opened several criminal proceedings and arrested more than ten employees of the penitentiary system, suspects in the torture of prisoners.
Arrested employees of a corrective colony №1 on the interrogation said that in 2017 the head of the Colony Nikolaev allowed to torture Makarov. After the crime, officers handed the video of torture as a report.
The prison authorities have been aware of torture but also their very sanctioned, summed up the defenders.
Earlier UNN reported that in the Russian Tatarstan Republic two the district was awarded a conditional prison terms for torture.
