In Russia crashed military plane an-26, killing the pilot

One soldier was killed and five others were injured due to a hard landing of the aircraft An-26 on Tuesday morning at the airport of Balashov in the Saratov region, said the defense Ministry.

“When landing on the airfield of Balashov in the Saratov region the plane did not survive the settings lower and went below the glide path (landing angle). On Board were six crew members. During hard landing, the plane caught fire”, – stated in the message.

The plane carried out training flight. The an-26 belonged to the training base of the Krasnodar higher aviation school of pilots, transfers bi-Bi-si.

According to preliminary data, the incident reason could become refusal of one of engines.

The defense Ministry reported that on a place of incident flew a special Commission to determine the causes of the accident.

Military transport An-26 was produced at the Kiev aviation plant between 1969 and 1986, there were 1.4 thousand aircraft of this type.
