In Odessa region the Deputy Prosecutor and demanded a bribe of $40 thousand

The Prosecutor General’s office detained the Deputy head of the Izmail local Prosecutor’s office and the Deputy of the Odessa regional Council on suspicion in extortion of a bribe. This reports the press service of the Prosecutor General.

“During a pretrial investigation it is established that the Deputy head of the Izmail local Prosecutor’s office of Odessa region by prior agreement with the Deputy of the Odessa regional Council during June-September 2017 extorted from the Director of the company undue advantage in the amount of $40 thousand for hindering the exercise of the business activities associated with the cultivation of crops,” – said in the message.

The investigators of the Inspectorate-General and the staff of SBU detained the suspects after the owner of the entire amount of bribes.

Now the issue of election as the detainee of a measure of restraint in form of detention.
