Today in Odessa took place the prayer for the release of prisoners of war of Ukrainian sailors.

As UNIAN correspondent, the prayer service took place on the dock of the Practical Harbor of the naval base “South” during the build, after the ceremonial raising of the flags on ships and boats of the national fleet.

As reported in the command of the naval forces of VS of Ukraine the event was organized by the Odessa-Balta eparchy ptsu, Bishop of Odessa and Balta Paul, with the support of the Navy command and leadership of the Ministry of the temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons in Ukraine.

As Deputy Navy commander Andrey Ursol, today is 4 months since the Russian ships fired on and captured the crews of the Ukrainian detachment of small artillery of armored boats.

Naval chaplain of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, Alexander Smereczynski noted that the clergy, together with the personnel of the Navy “with the words of sincere prayer turned to the Lord” with a request for early release of sailors.

“We also prayed for their families, because now more than ever they need the moral support of the Ukrainian people”, – said Smereczynski.
