In Lithuania, tearing magazines: the President spoke in defense of alcohol advertising in glossy magazines

KIEV. 5 Feb. UNN. From 1 January in Lithuania, entered into force amendments to the law on the control of the alcohol market, which prohibit the advertising of alcoholic beverages. In this regard, in the import to Lithuania of foreign journals pages of alcohol advertising began to seal the stickers, or at all to snatch them. About it reports Reuters, reports UNN.

According to the Director of distributor company “Press-Express” Vygintas of Bartashavicus, the process of removing alcohol advertising from foreign magazines quite expensive.

“Every log you want to view, to record the pages that need to be sealed up. We have hundreds of copies and five people who need to remove the desired page from the magazine. Our costs are high, and we don’t know what to do”, — explained V. Bartusevicius.

The penalties for violating an impressive 30 thousand euros.

The parliamentary opposition has proposed several amendments to the new law. And the head of state Dalia Grybauskaite expressed her opinion on the matter.

“It reminds me of the middle ages, and causes great harm to the image and reputation of Lithuania. It’s very simple. It is necessary to eliminate conflicting provisions of the law”, – said the President of Lithuania.
