“During the operation, police seized 2199 briquettes with the logo of the Dolphin, Bad Boys, Gold and TNT, equivalente 2 tons of cocaine hydrochloride. The drugs were hidden in boxes with bananas from Ecuador. Given the fact that when trading one kg of cocaine worth on the “black market” of 30 000 euros, the cost of shipping is about 65 million euros. If to consider that the retail price for one gram of cocaine in the territory of Latvia varies from 70-120 euros, the value of the seized drugs may be more than 1 billion euros,” – says the publication.

According to preliminary reports, among the detainees were the owner of the warehouse, two workers and two persons, ensuring the safety of drug trafficking.

Head of the Criminal police Andrey Grishin noted that the distribution of roles in the criminal group remains to be seen.

The three suspects left under arrest, up to two used measure not involving deprivation of liberty.

The police chief added that one of the detainees was previously convicted for smuggling, and the legalization of funds obtained by illegal means.
