KIEV. April 4. UNN. The indictment against 18-year-old Kharkiv citizen, who in Kharkov, knocked down a man on a pedestrian crossing, handed over to the court. It is reported by UNN citing the press service of the Prosecutor of Kharkiv region.
“Kharkiv region Prosecutor’s office approved and transferred to the Dzerzhinsky district court of Kharkiv indictment against 18-year-old Kharkiv citizen, who on the Avenue of Science hit a man on a pedestrian crossing (part 1 of article 286 of the criminal code of Ukraine)”, – reports the press service.
According to the head of the Prosecutor of the region Maxim Blokhin, during a pretrial investigation it is established that on September 14, 2017 the accused – a student of one of the Kharkiv universities, – without a driving licence, got behind the wheel of a Toyota Prado, which belonged to his father.
“In the evening along the Avenue of Science with a minimum speed of 90 km per hour, the driver ignored red traffic signal and drove into the pedestrian Zebra. At this time the road was moved 20-year-old boy. The accused knocked down a pedestrian. After arrival he continued to move, demolished several sections of the distribution fence, flew into the oncoming lane and stopped in the arch of the house on the opposite side. As a result of road accident the young man has received a brain concussion, a broken leg, other injuries of moderate severity and was taken to the hospital,” – said Blokhin.
The maximum sanction of article provides 3 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to 3 years.
