Iranian court against a background of public campaigns against the execution of agreed to send the revision of the death sentence for three people involved in the riots in November 2019, reports TASS with reference to the joint statement by the lawyers of the accused, which leads to Sunday, the Agency ISNA.

“We hope to change the initial verdict, and in accordance with article 474 filed a request to the Chairman of the Supreme court. Fortunately, this request was accepted and the case was transferred for reconsideration in one of the divisions of the Supreme court,” – said in a statement.

It is also noted that “currently, the execution of the death sentence against the defendants is suspended until a final verdict on this case.”

July 14, the official representative of the Supreme court of Iran Gholam Hossein Ismaili announced that three people involved in the riots in November 2019, was sentenced to death in Iran. According to him, “this verdict after an appeal by the accused and their lawyers was approved by the Supreme court.”

Then in social networks among Iranian users launched the campaign “do not execute”. Within a few days millions of users have placed the appropriate entries in their pages in protest against the verdict.

15 November 2019 in Iran came into force a government decree to increase the price of gasoline to 30 thousand rials (about 0.2 USD) per liter, which effectively meant a three-fold increase in the cost of fuel. After this decision, several cities held protests developed into clashes with the police.
