In Austria early elect the Parliament: the party of Kurtz favorites

In Austria on Sunday, October 15, held early parliamentary elections. The first polling stations opened at 06:00 local time, reports the Austrian newspaper Kurier.

To vote in today’s elections are right around 6.4 million Austrians.

The first results will be known after the polls closed at 17:00 local time. It is expected that the final results will be announced on Thursday, October 19.

Polls are a favorite of the elections is called conservative Austrian people’s party (övp) led by Minister of foreign Affairs Sebastian Kurtz – her voice ready to give more than 30% of voters.

Almost the same level of electoral support (24-26%) have a Social-democratic party (leader – Chancellor of Austria Christian Kern) and the far-right Austrian freedom party. The latter actively speculates on the topic of illegal migration and has an image of “friends of Putin” in Europe.

Early elections to the national Council – the lower house of the Austrian Parliament – was appointed after the collapse of the ruling coalition of the övp and the social Democrats in may 2017.
