GPU: the police investigate the reports of torture and rape of children at the Odessa shelter
KIEV. 1 Nov. UNN. Law enforcement officers began investigating the information about the violation of the rights of children of the Center socially-psychological rehabilitation in Odessa region, the pre-trial investigation is taken on control by the General Prosecutor of Ukraine. About it UNN reported in the press service of the GPU.
“In connection with resonance and numerous publications in mass-media, the Deputy Prosecutor General Gunduz Mammadov sent to the Prosecutor of Odessa region assignment verification of the facts disclosed. We are talking about beating children, not only on the part of teachers of the Center and law enforcement personnel, humiliation, statutory rape,” – said the GPU.
As noted by Mamedov, the test will “determine the objective circumstances, reasons for committing these brutal acts, identify perpetrators as quickly as possible and to send the case to the court.”
“Now the territorial divisions of the National police of Odessa region and the GBR is a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on the facts of torture and other violations of the rights of pupils KZ “Center of social-psychological rehabilitation of children of service for children of Odesa regional state administration” on the grounds of criminal offenses under part 1 of article 127, part 1, article 137, part 3, article 152, part 2 of article 365 of the criminal code of Ukraine”, – added in GPU.
On violation of children’s rights the centre had earlier told the human rights activist Zoya Miller in Facebook.
