Thousands of Polish inhabitants of Gdansk went on the March against hatred and violence after the assassination of the mayor of Gdansk Pavel Adamovich, 14 January died in hospital.

Tens of thousands of residents of gdańsk took part in the rally dedicated to the memory of Adamovich.

The meeting was held at the Fountain of Neptune, standing on Dlugi Targ, which is the symbol of Gdansk and one of the oldest monuments in Poland.

At the end of the action performed the song “Sound of silence”. Gdańsk residents stood in silence, they could not stop my tears, informs television channel tvn24.

Also on the streets of Gdansk, there were thousands of candles. Candles burned in the Windows of houses. Thus gdańsk residents honored the memory of the tragically deceased mayor.

We will remind that the mayor of the Polish city of Gdansk was attacked with a knife during a charity concert. Witnesses of the incident were hundreds of spectators, as the attack happened right on the stage.

The police arrested the attacker at the scene, they found 27-year-old resident of Gdansk, which had previously been condemned. The assailant was able to come so close to the mayor due to fake journalistic credentials.
