Ecuador has granted Assange citizenship
Uncategorized January 12, 2018Ecuador has granted citizenship to Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, who for more than five years living on the territory of the country’s Embassy in London. It is reported BBC with reference to the foreign Minister of Ecuador Maria Fernanda Espinosa.
According to the report, Assange’s request for naturalization was granted on 12 December 2017.
While Espinosa said that Ecuador “continues to look for alternatives” to resolve the status question Assange in accordance with international law and in coordination with the British government.
January 11, the UK authorities refused to the government of Ecuador to grant Assange diplomatic status.
