Marlen Khutsiev was hospitalized before the New year, along with his wife Irina Solovieva, the Director refused to go to the hospital without his wife worrying about her well-being. The wife of filmmaker died on 4 January in intensive care.

Marlen Khutsiev was born in 1925 in Tiflis. In 1952 he graduated from the directing Department of VGIK, and then worked at the Odessa film Studio of the Gorky film Studio and at “Mosfilm”.
