In regional Committee on public health and planned births say that the basis of the State center for big data in health and medicine will be stored information on 80 million people, the population of Jiangsu province, where Nanjing is located.
Large data from the database will be used to study genetic mutations that are related to the most common diseases.
A DNA sequencing project will engage Yangzi Group, South-East and the Nanjing medical University. But the database itself will be created in a matter of years.
