Bulgaria for the first time since joining the European Union led the EU Council

“January 1, 2018, a decade after joining the EU, Bulgaria for the first time assumes the presidency of the EU Council. Our country is a great honor, but also a big responsibility”, – stated in the message.
Bulgaria, who took the baton from Estonia, will head the Council of the European Union for six months.
In October 2017, the President of Bulgaria rumen Radev saidthat the European Union should lift sanctions against Russia.
