Bitcoin Foundation parliamentary bills on cryptocurrency called directionless and populist

Bitcoin Foundation Ukraine praised the parliamentarians for the intention to legalize the cryptocurrency in Ukraine, but criticized two of the bill deputies in the field during the “wet” and populism. This is stated in a press release, public organizations, supporting the development of cryptocurrency industry and technology of the blockchain in the country , reports UNN.
The Verkhovna Rada had introduced two bills aimed at determining the status of cryptocurrencies and related phenomena (mining, cryptocurrency exchanges, derivatives, blockchain technology, etc.).
Single – authorship of five MPs – “on the circulation of cryptocurrency in Ukraine”, and the second – authorship of people’s Deputy Serhiy Fishing – “On stimulation of the market of cryptocurrencies and their derivatives in Ukraine.”
The Board of Directors of Bitcoin Foundation Ukraine analyzed the text of draft laws with the participation of Juscutum.
“Must pay attention to the significant damp bills, their populist component, the incompleteness of the used terminology and the most important is the opaque nature of their creation,” – said in BFU.
The organization stressed that the bills were developed without the involvement of the expert community.
Also, as noted by the experts of the BFU, both bills abound in legislature inconsistencies, insufficient degree of understanding of the industry and “white spots”.
“The most important thing that they lack is the goal of adoption. From articulated positions it is impossible to understand what the social effect of counting deputies, in addition to get into the news feed. It is expected that both of these bill will not pass the vote, and will become another monument to the Ukrainian parliamentary PR”. emphasized in OO.
As reported UNN, the NBU bills on cryptocurrency called premature and imperfect.
The regulator reiterated that the cryptocurrency in Ukraine has no specific legal status in Ukraine. This issue is dealt with by the working group headed by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine together with financial institutions and industry experts.
It should be noted that the work of the group of regulators is ongoing, and the bills No. 7183 dated 6 October 2017 and No. 7183-1 from 10 Oct 2017 (C. Fishing) are not the results of work of the working group”, – said the NBU.
We will add that the author of the bill №7183-1 Fishing was recently dismissed by Parliament from the post of head of the Finance Committee. His work in this position, the experts of penetrable and depositors of banks rated very low.
