26-year-old Egyptian fencer Nada Hafez competed at the Olympic Games in Paris in the seventh month of pregnancy. The athlete shared this unique experience on her Instagram on July 30, noting that during her performances in the arena, her presence could be considered threefold: in addition to her and her opponent, her unborn child was with her, who had not yet been born.

Hafez said that pregnancy brought her a lot of physical and emotional challenges, comparing them to a roller coaster. Despite the difficulties, participation in the Olympiad turned out to be important and meaningful for her. The athlete emphasized how her perseverance and aspiration bore fruit and she is proud that she was able to make it to the 1/8 finals of the competition.

In this stage of the competition, Hafez was defeated by John Hayon from South Korea. The winner of the tournament was Frenchwoman Manon Brunet, who won a decisive victory in the final against compatriot Sarah Balzer.

Ukrainian athlete Olga Harlan received a bronze medal after defeating Korean Choi Sebin in the fight for third place.

For Nada Hafez, this was her third participation in the Olympic Games, and, according to her, this competition became special thanks to the presence of her little “Olympian”.

Recall that Olga Harlan’s decisive duel for the bronze medal at the Olympics ended with a difference of only one point, the victory was achieved with the last injection.

Earlier it was reported that 140 Ukrainian athletes are taking part in the Olympics in France. Fencer Olga Harlan stressed that such a small amount is Russia’s fault.
