Armed units of South Ossetia joined the Russian armed forces
Uncategorized February 6, 2018Armed units of the armed forces of the self-proclaimed “Republic of South Ossetia” became part of the Russian armed forces. The relevant law was signed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin reports the press service of the Kremlin.
“The Federal law ratifies the agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia on the order of occurrence of the individual units of the Armed forces of the Republic of South Ossetia in the composition of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, signed in Moscow on 31 March 2017”, – stated in the message.
In the Kremlin underline that the implementation of the so-called agreement on the procedure of joining individual units of the armed forces of the self-proclaimed “Republic of South Ossetia” in the Russian armed forces “in the interests of the Russian Federation and will not require additional budget appropriations of the Federal budget.”
Previously the foreign Ministry of Ukraine has condemned the ratification by the state Duma of the Russian Federation of this decision, calling the agreement “a continuation of the Kremlin’s policy to destabilize the situation in the black sea region and to undermine European security architecture”.
