In the area of criminal investigation Department officers stopped two men who came out of the entrance of the house on Prospekt Tychyny.

The attention of militiamen was attracted by their large shopping bag. The investigators decided to check its contents and documents of suspicious persons.

In the bag was food, but when dealing men had given the police important information: under the balcony of their home storage of ammunition.

“When reviewing the information of local residents were confirmed. Indeed, in the place we found and with the help of the bomb squad seized items, similar to two buildings with grenades “RGD-5”, one case of grenades “f-1” and three fuse to them, and 18 cartridges of 7.62 mm and 90 rounds of 5.45 mm. Withdrawn is directed on examination, and started to figure out their origin”, – said the head of the Dniprovskiy police Department Alexander Kuzmin.

Subsequently established that the ammunition belong to 42-year-old resident of the house, near which found the vault. Therefore, after receiving the approval of a judge, the law enforcers searched the apartment of a man he rented for about a year. There, police found items similar to the carbine with a silencer “MM-072СБ” 7.62 mm and 120 rounds of ammunition and a pistol “PM Wii” of caliber of 9 mm and 45 rounds of ammunition.

“Carbine owner has provided evidence, but we withdrew and together with other identified objects sent for examination. To us he explained that the weapons kept for their own security, and the ammunition found and wanted to be referred to the police, but did not. His testimony we will check”, – said Alexander Kuzmin.

In fact the incident initiated criminal proceedings under part 1 St. 263 (Illegal weapon handling, fighting supplies or explosives) UK of Ukraine. The man informed the law is not broken, so he was released on personal bond. He faces up to seven years of imprisonment.
