Amber war: in the Rivne region 200 of amber miners blocked the road police

The report said that while checking Volodymyrets district of Rivne region by the staff of the operational headquarters for the fight against illegal amber mining near the village bilska Wola, about 200 local residents blocked the road service vehicles.
Aggressive diggers demanded that police allow them to get the amber and not to disturb their fishing. Also, people dismantled the wooden bridge to prevent movement of the police.
Through negotiations the police were able to neutralize the conflict. Once the road was unlocked, the traffic on the bridge was resumed.
In fact resistance to the police started pre-trial investigation under part 2 of article 342 of the Criminal code of Ukraine. This article provides for criminal liability for obstruction of justice, a law enforcement officer, government contractor, private contractor, member of public formation on protection of a public order and state border or a serviceman, the authorized person of Fund of guaranteeing deposits of individuals.
This is not the first conflict with law enforcement officers getters of amber in Rivne. People complain of small salaries and lack of jobs, arguing that the illegal extraction of precious material is almost the only source of income.
So earlier it was reported that striking miners blocked the international highway Kyiv-Warsaw.
