The evening of March 5, a powerful storm struck the southern part of the U.S. state of California. She made this incredible light show. In one five-minute segment was recorded 1489 lightning off the coast of, 231 in the County of Santa Barbara and 40 in the County of Los Angeles, reports the Los Angeles Times, citing the National weather service (NWS).

According to meteorologists, the number of lightning in southern California is abnormally large. While winter storms are not typical for this region, said Stormnews.

The storm without serious consequences. One of lightning hit the plane of airline Delta Air Lines flying to Seattle. He was forced to return to Los Angeles. In the incident no one was hurt. In fact, the airport thunderstorm caused problems with electricity supply in the three terminals.
