Activist nakararami in Georgia was ticketed for possession of marijuana
Uncategorized September 1, 2017The court in Tbilisi has fined 2,000 lari ($820) for possession of 69 grams of marijuana Beka Tsikarishvili, a supporter of nakararami in Georgia, which previously was sentenced to 14 years in prison for drug possession. About it reports Radio Freedom.
It is noted that the court prohibited Tsikarishvili to teach or to practise law during the next five years, and also work in the medical and pharmaceutical sector for 10 years.
As reminds the edition, Tsikarishvili, was arrested in may 2013 and sentenced to 14 years imprisonment. Later, he was released on bail.
The arrest took Tsikarishvili caused activation of large-scale campaigns to mitigate drug policy, which was created the organization “Movement of white noise”.
In 2015 the constitutional court of Georgia announced the sentence Tsikarishvili unconstitutional.
As recalled by the publication, in July of this year, the Georgian Parliament amended the law by replacing prison sentences for marijuana possession to a fine.
In March, the Israeli Cabinet approved the decriminalization of marijuana use.
