A Russian goal was the capture of Kharkov, not Donetsk and Lugansk, the head of NSU

Initially, the strategic goal of Russia was to capture Kharkov, but not Donetsk and Lugansk. This was said by commander of the National guard Yuriy Alleru in an interview with the Apostrophe, reports the press service of the NSU.

“Because it’s two million people, the highest scientific potential, students, industry. They needed Kharkiv in the first place. It has been proved that they wanted to undermine the situation, starting with Kharkiv. In Kharkiv, they did not succeed. In contrast to the Crimea, Lugansk, Donetsk,” – said Alleron.

In April 2014, the Ukrainian security services released the separatists seized the regional administration building in Kharkiv.

The DNI and LC – terrorist organizations seized with the support of the Russian Federation of the Donetsk and Lugansk region of Ukraine. Both organizations created, funded and maintained by Russia, where, among other things, the terrorists are getting fighters, trainers, and heavy equipment, weapons, ammunition, and fuel.
