KIEV. March 29. UNN. The President of Moldova Igor Dodon initiated referendum, where citizens can Express their attitude to the extension of powers of the head of state, reports UNN with reference to Deutsche Welle.
The corresponding decree I. Dodon was signed during a press conference on results of 100 days of his tenure as President.
In a referendum the citizens, in particular, offer to answer the question of granting the head of state the right to dissolve the Parliament and organize early elections.
In addition, the plebiscite will be proposed for reducing the number of MPs from 101 to 70 people, the abolition of the law on the transfer of stolen from the banking system of billions of euros in debt, and replace the school subject “History of Romanians” with “History of Moldova”.
The referendum is scheduled for September 2017. The results will be Advisory in nature.
As reported UNN, the President of Moldova has promised to block the initiative of the ruling Democratic party about the transition to a majoritarian system of elections to Parliament, if it was supported by the deputies.
Earlier, Igor Dodon, called for a return to compulsory study of the Russian language in schools.
