A large flock of white pelicans recorded in Odessa oblast

Pink Pelican on the territory of Ukraine is a seasonal migrant. Winters in South-East Asia and Africa. After the Second World war the breeding of these birds on the territory of Ukraine was not observed, but since 2000, some nests of pink Pelican from time to time discover the staff of the Danube biosphere reserve in the Ukrainian part of the Danube Delta.

This species of birds listed in the Red book of Ukraine. Total world population is estimated at 18-19 thousand birds.
