A fire in a children’s camp in Odessa: the alarm was intentionally disabled
The camp was equipped with the latest sound and light fire alarm, but she was driven to idle state
The latest sound-light fire alarm, which was bought and installed in the municipal children’s camp “Victoria” last year, at the time of yesterday’s fire was disabled.
This was during the extraordinary session of the Commission on questions tekhnogenno-ecological safety and emergency situations of the Odessa regional state administration head regional GU gschs, reports “Duma“.
Firefighters checked the camp on 23 June 2017, and revealed violations, in particular, disabled the alarm.
The contract with the company “Ukrtechpostach”, which should serve this system, the camp broke. Responsible for fire safety the person was fined and received the instruction about elimination of violations, but nothing was done.
The nearest fire pond at the time of the fire was only filled to one third.
“In 2016, the camp was purchased, installed and commissioned a modern fire alarm, but then she deliberately brought to idle state”, — said the Deputy chief of head Department gschs of Ukraine in Odessa region Mikhail Volk, adding that the system was disconnected from the console.
Present at the meeting, the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov noted that, according to him, the fire place was still seen red warning lights and audible sound.
“This means that the system reported a fault”, — replied the rescuer.
We will remind, the Chairman of the Odessa regional state administration Maxim Stepanov has declared mourning in the region due to the deaths of two children in a fire in the children’s improving complex “Victoria”.
