KIEV. August 30. UNN. In the Kharkiv region reported the seventh case of malaria since the beginning of 2018. This time ill student from Nigeria, reported UNN in the Kharkiv regional laboratory center of the Ministry of health of Ukraine.
“25 August 2018 was imported case of malaria from the citizen of the Republic of Nigeria, which is 18 Aug 2018 arrived for education at the higher school of Kharkiv”, – reported in the laboratory center.
At carrying out of epidemiological investigation it was established that the patient on 22 August there were complaints of weakness, headache, nausea, increased body temperature to 40° C. however, he did not seek medical help.
“I first sought medical help on August 25 at the substation of emergency medical care №1, the carriage of which is delivered in municipal health care institution “Regional clinical infectious hospital” and hospitalized with a diagnosis of malaria. During clinical investigation with the patient the diagnosis was confirmed”, – added in the laboratory center.
In the hearth at the residence of the patient carried out epidemiological investigation and implemented a complex of anti-epidemic measures.
“For the current period 2018 in the Kharkiv region was the 7th case of malaria. Among the diseased – two residents of the area who were in the countries of the African continent,” said the institution.
We will remind, in Kharkov on 4 August 2018 has already been registered imported case of malaria from the citizen of the Republic of Nigeria, arrived in the city on business.
