The law on Donbass contradict the Minsk, it’s the verbiage – Gerashchenko
Uncategorized January 20, 2018The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on de-occupation and reintegration of certain regions of Donbass, where Russia is the aggressor and occupier, not contrary to the Minsk agreements. This was stated by the presidential Commissioner for the peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Donbass Irina Gerashchenko in his Facebook.
The “law on reintegration of Donbass captures the true state of things – the occupation of part of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. All the talk that it negates the Minsk agreement is the verbiage and try to shift the blame on others,” – stated in the message.
She stressed that the Minsk agreement, which she repeatedly reminded, are the basis of international sanctions against Russia are enshrined in other legislative acts adopted by the Ukrainian Parliament.
According to her, the law on Donbass also introduces some international terminology, in particular, the “effective control” and is aimed at solving humanitarian issues, and therefore “not distracting from the logic of peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbass”.

On 12 December the UN saidthat the bill “lacks definition” in the protection of the rights and freedoms of the individual. The Ombudsman also saw some problems. It was later published texts of documents.
6 October 2017 Rada adopted in first reading the draft law on the reintegration of Donbass No.7163 (“on peculiarities of state policy on ensuring state sovereignty of Ukraine on the temporarily occupied territories in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions”). On 17 November, the parliamentary Committee on national security and defence approved the final version for consideration on second reading.
15 January in Parliament said that the bill filed by amendment 673.
18 Jan for the document voted by 280 parliamentarians. Now the law must be signed by the President.
