The “Magnitsky list”: in Lithuania, imposed sanctions on 49 Russians

In Lithuania, imposed sanctions on 49 “undesirable” citizens of Russia accused of human rights violations and money laundering, in the framework of the law known as the Magnitsky Act. On it informs news Agency BNS.lt with reference to the press attache of the Ministry Carolis Vaitkevičius.

“The Minister (interior Minister of Lithuania Eimutis Misunas – ed.) signed an order banning the entry of 49 persons part of Lithuania law upon the proposal of the Ministry of foreign Affairs”, – said the press Secretary of the Ministry.

The interior Ministry of Lithuania also reported that the list was compiled after consultations with foreign partners. Misunas instructed the immigration Department to publish the list.

The “Magnitsky list”, adopted by the Lithuanian Parliament, contains 49 names. Among them, the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin, who led the Magnitsky case, the Deputy head of the Investigative Committee at the interior Ministry, major-General Oleg Logunov, who took the decision on the Magnitsky case of judge Elena Stashina, Alexey Krivoruchko, Svetlana Ukhnalev, Sergei Podoprigorov, the leadership of the Moscow tax Inspectorate, convicted Magnitsky in a large-scale frauds with budgetary funds.

On 16 November, the Seimas of Lithuania adopted the so-called Magnitsky Act, according to which the country prohibits the entry of aliens associated with large-scale corruption, money laundering or violations of human rights.
