Near Turkey’s African freighter rammed the landing ship of the Russian Federation

The defense Ministry of Russia reported about the clash of the large landing ship black sea fleet “Yamal” with the African cargo ship in the Aegean sea. This writes the Russian news Agency Interfax.

The incident occurred on the morning of 30 December, in the Strait off the coast of Turkey in the 9-10 miles South of the Greek island of Rhodes.

The cargo ship “Orca 2” under the Sierra Leone flag was flying from Egypt to Turkey. According to the head of Department of information support of the black sea fleet Vyacheslav Trukhacheva, the ship broke the rules while overtaking the Russian ship. Thinking that the overtaking is completed, the “Orc 2” changed course and crashed in the Yamal.

As a result of collision nobody suffered, and the ships remained on track. What damage was the Russian warship, Trukhachev said. Judging by the photos from the public on the Russian fleet, “Yamal” the damaged bulwarks.

Landing ship “Yamal” in December of 2017 once again went to Syria, where he had delivered the goods.
