The number of patients with measles in Odessa region increased two times
Uncategorized December 26, 2017ODESSA-KIEV. 26 Dec. UNN. In November, the incidence of measles in Odessa region increased two times. About it the correspondent of UNN reported epidemiologist Lyudmila krasnicka.
“In the Odessa region remains tense epidemiological situation with measles, and is most common in children, and the majority of patients — inhabitants of the regional center. As of mid-December, epidemiologists recorded 967 cases of measles in the Odessa region since the beginning of the outbreak. Moreover, 65% of the patients are children under the age of 14 years. And half of them (50%) — inhabitants of Odessa”, — stated in the message.
L. Krasnitskaya reported that in November in comparison with October in Odessa, the incidence of measles has increased two times. So, if in October, it was 103 in November and already 201.
The only way to prevent the measles infection is vaccination. According to Ukrainian legislation, children who have not been vaccinated cannot attend kindergartens and schools.
As reported by UNN, in Ukraine strengthened measures for vaccination against measles is extended until the end of January.
