In the center of Kharkov want to build a monument to Russian actress

Soviet and Russian actress Lyudmila Gurchenko in the center of Kharkov want to establish a monument. This was told to journalists the Deputy of the Kharkov city Council Gabriel Mikhailov, a correspondent of UKRINFORM.

A bronze monument plan to install a spring in the Park on Independence Avenue.

According to Mikhailov, the idea belongs to the mayor of Kharkiv Gennady Kernes. The author of the monument is the honored artist of Ukraine Katib Mamedov. He worked on the monument a year and a half, he created dozens of sketches.

“As a result of approved sketch of bronze monument with a height of over 7.5 m. the composition also included 15 playable characters, the most famous of the six films with the participation of Lyudmila Gurchenko – from “Carnival night” to “Station for two” and “Love and pigeons” – said the Deputy.

As you know, Gurchenko was born in Kharkiv in 1935 and lived there with his parents during the German occupation.
