Bulgaria has temporarily suspended the contract with the Russian “MiG” because of the complaint of Ukraine

KIEV. 20 Dec. UNN. Bulgaria has temporarily suspended the contract with the Russian company “MiG” for the total amount of 49.3 million dollars because of the complaint of the Ukrainian company “Ukrinmash”. According to DW, on Wednesday, December 20, reported the Ministry of defense of Bulgaria, reports UNN.

“The Russian company had over four years to re-equip 15 of the old fighters “MiG” for the armed forces of Bulgaria”, – said the Minister of defense of Bulgaria Krasimir Karakachanov.

Karakachanov described the complaint of “Ukrinmash” as “attempted sabotage” of the agreement, the Bulgarian defense Ministry from a Russian company. Bulgaria has not announced tenders for maintenance of old MiGs.

According to Karakachanov only Russian company can provide reliable technical support to aircraft such as “MiG”, and “the Ukrainian company is not licensed, does not have the ability to carry out such conversions”.

Due to the fact that the complaint was received by the end of the year, the Bulgarian defense Ministry will have to wait for the next opportunity to receive funding from the state budget to re-equip aircraft for three to four months.
