In the European Parliament expressed “full support” of NABOO
Ukraine urgently needs an anti-corruption court
In the European Parliament spoke in support of the National anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine and urged consolidation with the objective of overcoming corruption.
This is stated in the statement of the European deputies and members of the group of friends of European Ukraine, issued on Thursday in Brussels, reports UNIAN.
“We would like to Express our full support for the work of the National anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), which is headed by Sytnyk. We are convinced that in order to intensify efforts to NAB, it is necessary to accelerate the process of creating an anti-corruption court,” – said in a statement.
MEPs also “joined President Poroshenko in his request to the Parliament and expect that the current draft of the law “On anti-corruption courts” will be removed from the agenda and significantly revised”.
“Finally, we want to emphasize that we expect this consolidation and collaboration of all state institutions and all who make decisions in this fight against corruption. This task is undoubtedly the most important element of the Association agenda Ukraine-the EU and, more importantly, remains one of the main requirements and expectations of people in modern post-Maidan Ukraine”, – convinced the members of the EP.
They also welcome today’s announcement of the President of Ukraine and his call to fight corruption with “greater determination”.
Recall, Poroshenko has promised to submit its bill on the anti-corruption court. The President will do this if in the beginning of next week the Verkhovna Rada will not progress in this matter.
