In Khmelnytsky detained extorted from the defendant $1 thousand lawyer

The investigative Department of Prosecutor’s office of Khmelnytskyi region together with employees of Department on fight against corruption and organized crime of the SBU in the region on 8 November detained a local lawyer during receiving a bribe. About it reports a press-service of the regional Prosecutor’s office.

Being the protector of a resident of Khmelnytsky, for a long time he demanded to provide him improper benefit in the amount of $1 thousand for providing them with influence on judges to solve the question of the closure against the defendant in criminal proceedings. After receiving $700 illegal benefit the lawyer was detained and the money seized. The issue of declaring him of suspicion and the election of a preventive measure.

On this fact pre-judicial investigation in criminal proceedings on signs of the criminal offense under part 3 of article 369-2 of the Criminal code of Ukraine – obtaining of illegal benefit for themselves or third parties for influence in the decisions of the person authorized to perform state functions, combined with extortion of such benefits.

Earlier today it was reportedthat the head of the village Council in Kirovohrad region demanded 5 thousand UAH of a bribe for allocation of land to two participants of the ATO.
