Police are asking for the arrest of the second party of a traffic accident in Kharkov

Investigators are asked to choose a measure of restraint in form of detention without possibility of bail the second participant of road accident in Kharkiv, which killed 5 people. About it reports a press-service GU of the national police in the Kharkiv region.

Yesterday the driver of the Volkswagen Touareg Gennady Dronovu declared suspicion in infringement of safety rules of traffic or operation of transport. According to Dronova, it is suspected that he allegedly was driving on a yellow light.

“During the investigation of criminal proceedings identified 32 witnesses to the incident, they gave their testimony. In addition, investigators examined video from surveillance cameras and the algorithm of the traffic lights at the crossroads”, – said during a briefing the chief of the Department of national police in the Kharkiv region Oleg Bech.

According to the chief of Department of investigation of crimes in sphere of transport Alexander Umnikov, the findings of the review helped to determine which items are the rules of the road violated the participants of the fatal accident.

Materials of criminal proceedings will be sent to court in late November.

18 October 2017 at about 20:40 in the center of Kharkov has occurred a large road accident: a car allegedly ran a red light and crashed into a Volkswagen Touareg, then took off on the sidewalk with pedestrians. Due to the collision killed five people, including a 15-year-old girl. Six passers-by, among them a pregnant woman, were hospitalized with injuries.

Kiev district court of Kharkov chose for Elena Zaitseva, suspected in committing the accident, the measure of restraint in form of detention for 60 days – up to 16 December 2017 without setting bond.
