Russians in General digress from the Ukrainian theme – poll

Russian sociologists of the Levada center say the decline in interest of Russians to what is happening in Ukraine. The fall in the interest of the citizens of the Russian Federation to the events in the neighboring country began after the remission of the main fights of the active phase of Russia’s war against Ukraine – in June 2015, says the website of the sociological service.

68% of respondents now are not particularly interested in what is happening in Ukraine, or even not following it. Interested in the events at the neighbors 31% of Russians.

While 41% of respondents believe that Russia “should support a” terrorist organization DNI/LC. 37% believe that Russia should not support “none”. The idea to attach the hybrid captured by the Russian army of the Donbass to the Russian Federation Russians “already gone”, say sociologists.

53% of respondents in General have a negative attitude to Ukraine, every third (32%) were positive.

The survey was conducted from 15 to 19 September 2017 among 1,600 people aged 18 years and older in 137 settlements 48 Russian regions.

In early April of 2017 poll by the Levada center showedthat 56% of Russians in General are bad for Ukraine, and every fifth “very bad”.

Russia occupied the Crimea in 2014. The Verkhovna Rada announced on 20 February 2014 beginning of the temporary occupation of the Peninsula Russia. Key international organizations, including the UN General Assembly, condemned the Kremlin’s actions. Against Russia was introduced on personal and sectoral sanctions. For the implementation by Moscow of the so-called parliamentary elections with the participation of the Crimea in 2016 Parliament recognized the state Duma illegitimate.

The DNI and LC – terrorist organizations seized with the support of the Russian part of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine. Both organizations created, funded and contain Russia, where, among other things, the terrorists are getting fighters, trainers, and heavy equipment, weapons, ammunition, and fuel.
