Britain asks UN to abandon the term “pregnant woman”
Uncategorized October 23, 2017The UK foreign office offers the UN to call mothers-not “pregnant women” and “pregnant people,” not to exclude from this category the bearing of children people-transgender people. This writes the British newspaper The Telegraph.
Such an amendment the official London proposes to amend the international Covenant on civil and political rights.
“The UK has no objection to the use of the term “pregnant woman”. We strongly support the right to life for pregnant women, and we asked the Committee on human rights (UN) not to exclude from this right to life of the pregnant transgender people,” said the British foreign Ministry.
