Juncker presented a plan for the existence of the EU after Brexit
Uncategorized March 1, 2017European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker presented in the European Parliament a draft on the future vision of the European Union, the so-called White book. This is the Agency EUobsrever.
The project marks the beginning of the debate about the future of the EU after Brexit. It contains five main scenarios: “continue working”, “nothing but a single” market, “those who want more, do more, do less, but more effectively and do much more together.” One or a combination of all five ideas you should choose to bring up to 2025.
Solution EU leaders will have to take at the upcoming December summit.
The plan “is nothing but a single market” means that at the EU level will only discuss problems of trade and economy, and not, for example, the issues of migration and security.
The plan called “enhanced cooperation” already exists to some extent in accordance with the applicable EU rules, which provide for the creation of the office of European Prosecutor or the introduction of a tax on financial transactions.
The script of “those who want more, do more” would be acceptable for those EU member States that want closer integration in one sphere, for example, of taxation, while other EU member States are not yet ready to definitively declare whether they want to join them.
The principle of “do less, but more effectively” includes the creation of a European defence Union and the development of the EU border Agency Frontex for the management of external borders. The plan calls for a departure from the social and employment policies with a focus on trade, security, migration, defense and borders.
The script “to do much more together” most likely as a compromise acceptable to the populists and those governments who want to restore the sovereignty of European countries on the EU institutions.
